A person who is privy to the knowledge of The Black Rite and uses it to transfer the consciousness of their father to their son.  At any given time, there are approximately 300 reborn families that exist in the world.  As long as The Black Rite ritual is performed, these powerful families are essentially immortal.  They secretly maintain control of the world and use it like a chessboard to settle their disputes.
