James Slattery

James Slattery grew up in Western New York, then joined the Air Force at the age of 20.  After 4 years of service, he eventually found his way back to New York to study music and Pro Tools at Niagara County Community College.  James eventually ditched the expensive Pro Tools DAW in favor of Reaper and refined his sound over the next 20 years as advancements in home recording technology became available.  The evolution of his sound can be heard from the early Chronic Ion tracks to the Jim Slatts and Josh Coker collaborations to the later Chronic Ion releases, and finally to The Castillion.  James currently produces from his home studio in Batesville, AR.
