The Castillion and Son: A Complicated History
Juan Atrevido del Castillo was chosen, he accepted it and was instantly a good steward of this terrible gift called The Black Rite. When he realized his partner would be the Aztec King Cuitlahuac, he instinctively knew there would be a problems. The Castillion‘s ilk was bred to believe that any peoples who did not possess the same technology as the Europeans were forsaken by any Gods of merit. They were animals and their beliefs reflected the wasteful hedonistic Gods they worshiped… they were born for subjugation. Their strange obsession with astronomy and death, seemingly for its own sake, were repugnant. Juan’s belief was proven by his son’s behavior. Juan was cold as ice and found no pleasure in the measures he took to serve and consolidate the power his beast demanded. His son on the other hand, seemed to revel in the pain and misery his decisions caused. The Castillion was a pragmatist who charmed and outwitted his way to power. His son was a tyrant who enjoyed his power and control like a drug. Every time junior made a stupid decision that the Castillion had to clean up, Juan had it commemorated in musical form. It is said that Vivaldi received a handsome contribution for writing “The Four Seasons”… perhaps it was commissioned specifically for an infant who retained his memory of supporting a particular Frenchman named Napoleon. The black and white ideals of such a ruler would certainly resonate with Junior. Now every time “The Four Seasons” plays Junior can only hear the voice of his immortal father, “Son, every mood is like a season. This musical torture is a way to remind you to keep your feelings in check.”
